Last Saturday I attended the OVs at Speedway and Plainfield. Brittany Winebar let me ride with her and her Bethel #34 girls- Carolyn and Sophie. After the OV at Plainfield, we headed down to the Louisville Science Center for an overnight. Unfortunately because of the Official Visits we didn't get there until the classes downstairs were almost over. There was a great turnout with over 100 participants. I was really happy to see Bethels take advantage of the great opportunity. After a group snack, we split up to do the scavenger hunt.

Dispute my overly competitive nature, we didn't develop a great system for the scavenger hunt until later in the game. We did, however, develop a group call so we no longer needed to stick together. When one of us found the answer to a question we yelled out, "ka-kaw." We were judged for it, but I believe those judgments stemmed from jealousy. After the scavenger hunt- which we did not win- but was won by Bethels from Louisville and Jeffersonville, we watched an IMAX movie. I feel like they may have had the upperhand and potentially practiced before we arrived. One day it will come time to play Disney Scene-It and that is a battle you will lose. You lose that battle 9 times out of 10. Back to the Museum...

The Best Part of the Night. After the movie, everyone got their bags, pillows and blankets and picked a part of the museum to sleep in. You can literally sleep anywhere, which I thought was really cool. Brittany, Carolyn, and Sophie brought me to our sleeping location that they had found earlier, the Amazing Beginnings Room. Imagine with me. The room was enclosed with windows on the left. The image of a baby was blown up on the window. On the other side of the room were tubules with replications of developing fetuses. One of the tubes was empty though so that does raise the question of Alien Abduction. There was a light illuminating the tubules that changed color periodically. And while I have captured the room through images, there is no documentation that can truly describe the noise in the room. Over the sound system, we listened to what a baby listens to all night- some classical music, their heartbeat and their parents talking indistinctly.

The next morning we all shared a quick breakfast then left to head back to Indianapolis. It was a great event and I'm glad so many people were able to attend. Thank you to Julie Cox for organizing the event.

Once more you open the door

Last night was the long awaited DeMolay Sweetheart Dance. It was extremely well attended. There were people that I looked for all night and couldn't find until the end of the night because of the crowd. The music was good and everyone seemed to have a good time. I personally was a fan of the 90's at 9.

The best part of the evening was the drawing for the King and Queen of the night. James Gordan won king (shock!). Morgan Fisher won Queen and the two shared an adorable dance. I'm proud to have been present for the song selection, suggested by Libbie Sutherland. And our hearts all went on last night.

Brittany Winebar, Tara Disbrow and I started working on our dance moves last night. I have a theory that if we can bank about 30 awesome dance moves that's all we'll ever need to know. We can use rearrange them and pull them out when necessary. So far we're at like 6 moves. I'm really counting on Dance Central to teach me what I need to know to get by in social situations.

Today has been a good day. I spent quite a bit of the day with Brittany working on things for Session. I hope everyone had a good time and you are all getting ready for the term to start up.

Super Duper

YAY PACKERS!

Ritual Revision Survey

On the edge of an Arabian desert, centuries ago there lived a man named Job. He was a good man who loved God and turned away from evil. God, in His goodness, blessed Job with great wealth. With his wife, seven sons and three daughters, he lived in a valley in peace, happiness and plenty. His vast estates stretched in all directions, providing pasture for his camels,oxen and sheep. Scattered in the valley and shaded by giant palms, were the homes of his sons.

At the close of each day it was the custom of Job's children to gather together to feast at one of their homes. Job, not wishing to impose upon the festivities, remained at his own home in peace. Because they were so wealthy, Job feared that his children, might forget or turn away from God. By regular worship he taught his family to share in his faith.

In heaven, God praised Job for his piety. The Adversary, whose task was to test the
faith of the people of the earth, accused Job of being devoted to God only because He made Job wealthy. The Adversary declared that if God took away Job's riches, his love for God would turn to hate. God permitted the Adversary to test Job's faith by taking away his possessions, but he forbid the Adversary to harm Job. So the Adversary set forth on his mission.

Job live Desert. Job good, hate bad. Job have family be happy. Job's children eat. Job stay home. Job have money fear for family. Job love God. God like Job. Adversary want God test Job. God permits.

Please don't forget to check out the proposed changes, even if you only focus on opening or initiation. Say something if you have an opinion. Rather than having a traditional leadership conference, we tried to do something a little different this year. In the morning session, we had a self-esteem seminar for the girls. <img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_w72Kh3tORyM/TMHiLxZDz1I/AAAAAAAAADs/gqf41T7hOSw/s200/PA090266.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5530950509252562770" /> The girls were divided into two groups by age. The adults went over the adult proficiency test- a test over the ritual and constitution and bylaws. We got a lot accomplished and I think we'll have several adults turn in the test this year. We had a baked potato bar for lunch while Raquel spoke to the group about healthy eating options.

After lunch we had a self defense instructor from IU speak to the group and provide some basic lessons. <img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_w72Kh3tORyM/TMHfgJcFWyI/AAAAAAAAADE/Wmh7fK96iBU/s200/PA090273.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5530947560770198306" />
We learned some basic strikes, kicks, blocks and some situational defense. Everyone got an opportunity to kick full force on a pad and practice kicking someone's shin and escaping. Then we drew for door prizes and awarded certificates for completion of the 2010 Leadership Conference.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_w72Kh3tORyM/TMHf7SoyXCI/AAAAAAAAADU/Ogva37fkvGE/s200/PA100281.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5530948027095866402" />The next morning was Statewide Go to Church Sunday followed by the Grand Bethel Soups cook-off and Bazaar. We had a great turn-out for the event. I know some of you may have heard the rumor that there was a contest for whoever sold the most tickets for the event. <img style="float:right; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_w72Kh3tORyM/TMHfBjSn4eI/AAAAAAAAAC8/GxZFmiRMbL4/s200/PA100278.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5530947035133895138" />
Unfortunately, so many of the Grand Bethel Exec sold out of their tickets that we had to call it a draw. Too bad because I had an awesome present but I guess we'll just have to wait until we sell tickets for another event. There were some great items for sale at the Bethel's booths.

Thank you to everyone who entered soups and thank you to Tara Disbrow for coordinating the event.
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_w72Kh3tORyM/TMHfx1MBfXI/AAAAAAAAADM/sX3L-31lKjs/s200/PA100280.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5530947864571772274" /><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_w72Kh3tORyM/TMHgddygoOI/AAAAAAAAADc/4SkRg0aHJlA/s200/PA100279.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5530948614204989666" />

GB Getaway- so legit you have to admit

Grand Bethel had their getaway the first weekend of October at the DeMolay Chateau in Bloomington. We had a pretty good turnout with about 25 people total. Exec went on Friday night. Saturday everyone joined us for lunch. It was rainy outside and we were worried the weather wouldn't clear up. Right after we ate, we traversed to the covered basketball court at the back of the Chateau grounds. We continued our annual dodgeball competition. <img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_w72Kh3tORyM/TL9-xvt0tFI/AAAAAAAAAC0/oGdBz1-2XsM/s200/PA020226.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5530278260521612370" />
We played girls against adults for awhile but as that was one-sided (and I say that because my team kept winning and winning, we switched teams up. It was pretty awesome, I'm not going to lie. Then we got out the sidewalk chalk and played four square. It was shocking how few people had played four square as children. So we relived our childhood then played some outside games. As our theme was Christmas, we played some Holiday games. One of the games was like hot potato but with a Christmas package. Whenever the music stopped, whoever was holding the package had to unwrap one layer then act out the task that was written in that layer. If you completed the task you got the present that was with the task.

We also learned some awesome moves from Darren's Dance Grooves. I hope all the attendees from getaway will be practicing the dance for Corn Ball and Shrine Youth. We still have a little work for Bye Bye Bye. We made Hobo meals for dinner (each person makes their own meal out of potatoes, meat, corn, green beans, mushrooms, etc.). They were really good and filling. We watched the House Bunny that night and went to bed. The next morning we had breakfast together then tore down and went home. I hope everyone had a great time, I know I did.<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_w72Kh3tORyM/TL9-HNsKCFI/AAAAAAAAACs/olBXX4X8Jtk/s200/PA020239.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5530277529833310290" />

After getaway I got to spend a couple of days in Bloomington, catching up on my favorite restaurants...and catching up with friends. It was a nice birthday present to myself.

Beech Grove’s Fall Festival- We came, we saw, we left.

I went to Beech Grove’s Fall Festival today. We had a booth outside the temple with the Silent Auction baskets. We had promotional items and sold silly bands. The Masons had a breakfast in the morning then we served a hot dog lunch for $4 with chips and a drink. There wasn’t a great crowd this year so that was disappointing. Carolyn Winebar came and we learned a lot together. We learned about a politician running for congress, Jeff Spoonamore. He’s running against Andre, if you didn’t know. We didn’t know who he was so we had to ask. We also got our faces painted and were the envy of all the little children waiting in line behind us to get their faces painted. <img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_w72Kh3tORyM/TL95CiVrptI/AAAAAAAAACc/lBLz-vsbi1A/s200/mask.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5530271951918704338" />
They had some awesome gift cards and baskets for the silent auction…I brought two of them. Thank you Noblesville Panera for your generous donations! We got to have our council meeting after the festival so my Monday night is now free, which I’m very excited about.

I went home last night to Yorktown, IN. My cat Peppi, who lives at my parent’s house, is really sick and they think she might have cancer in her right hip and a tumor in her mouth. They biopsied one of her teeth and her hip and they’ll get the results back in a week. I wanted to go home and see her just in case she takes a turn for the worst. It was a good weekend at home and I was glad to see my parents. Now I’m just getting everything ready for the Exec meeting I have tomorrow. For those of you who don’t know, the executive members of Grand Bethel (5 Line, Advisors, Recorder, Treasurer, 3 committee members and the Jr. Past GBHQ who serves on committee for the year following her term as GBHQ) meet to discuss the business of Grand Bethel about once a month. Tomorrow will be our 3rd meeting for the year. I hope everyone has a great weekend and enjoys this nice weather.

I can’t do it but I try to do it constantly…but I can’t

Sorry for the song on my profile. I’ve been playing around with trying to play music but I don’t know how to get my music through a url or whatever it’s called. I don’t know things about technology. At least I figured out how to insert music in general, even though it was just some example music this one help site gave me. If anyone does know, please let me know so that I do not look foolish once again.

Job-A-Rama was a good time. The Grand Bethel “Cockroaches” had the middle cabin which is the nurses cabin. For those of you who weren’t there, every cabin was given a bug. Grand Bethel picked cockroaches because like cockroaches, when the world ends we’ll still be here. We shared our cabin with Courtney, the Supreme Bethel Honored Queen. It was nice talking with her and getting to know more about her. We all talked/laughed over the ritual revisions. Leslie, Brittany and I made a bond to watch Mean Girls together every night we sleep in the same room. I hope we are true to our word.

The skits were really great. Bloomington’s Harry Potter dance out was very cute. I liked Bethel #5’s sorting hat. I liked the Pokemon skit too. I almost named my cat Onyx. My friend who gave me my cat takes in kittens, tames them, then finds homes for them. She names all of them after Pokemon. She said there isn’t an animal that you can’t name after a Pokemon. GB’s skit was really fun, even when the wipers on the bus went” wipe, wipe, wipe.”

Grand Bethel’s Sweet Shop was very successful. Thank you to everyone who donated, including Carol Titus, Susan McKendry, Vicki Loughmiller, and Erin Carrico.
I would like to thank everyone who donated blood or attempted to donate at the Blood Drive at Masonic Home Day last Sunday. The Indiana Blood Center was grateful for the donations. We had 31 donations and 6 donors who were turned away during the process. We turned away more donors at the door because of lack of ID. Thank you to everyone who helped or donated sweets, especially Bonita Ramirez, Ed Armantrout, Susan McKendry and Anita Snyder.

An elephant never forgets, but in case you do...

Job-A-Rama and the Masonic Home Festival are coming up this weekend. The first day of OVs was 8/21. Brittany and I traveled up north for the OV of Bethel #8/27. There was a good turnout for the Majority Ceremony of Leah Heller, Katherine Piercy, Allie Slater and Becca Cooper. The girls did a really nice job on the ceremony and I'm sure that the girls receving their majority were proud. I awarded a daughter from each Bethel the "You're Totally Legit Award," my version of the daughter of the meeting award. It is based solely on ritual work at the official visit. Lydia Heller and Brooke Pace received the award at the OV. Congratulations to both of them and the girls of both Bethels for their hard work!

The next OV of #115/25 was at Daleville. Lindsey Noland and Emmalee Jones did a great job presiding over the meeting and Obligation Ceremony. I was very proud of Bethel #25 and their work on the ceremony. Katie Fears and Hannah Hawk received the You're Totally Legit Award for their great ritual work.

On August 28, we started the morning off at Clinton for the initiation of Mikayla Cooper and Stefani Nasser, both for Bethel #2. It was another well attended event especially by the Grand Officers. Then we went to Knightsville for the OV of Bethels #121/110. We dedicated Megan Carter's baby Hailey at our first baby dedication. They did the Obligation Ceremony which was very nice. The Bethels had an awesome meal afterward which was great because Kathy Cooper and I had to wait for Lynn to get out of his Exec meeting. Luckily we had some company while we waited, two girls from Fort Wayne and Lila and Genesis Jones. Then we headed home from the long day.

Grand Bethel Girls- we're unforgetable!

The weekend following Supreme (August 13-15) was the Grand Bethel Executive Retreat to Michigan City, IN. Unfortunately not all of Exec was able to attend but we did have a good turnout. We drove up in 2 cars- one group of people who could leave early and another who left later. I left in the early car with Brittany and Lindsey. Tara, Becca, Raquel, and Brettney met at Fishers to head up north together.

So Brittany, Lindsey and I start off in my car. We decided not to take 465 since we'd have to go through 5 p.m. traffic and construction. We ended up taking Meridian north. We were about to make our turn and Brittany commented that we were only a couple of minutes away from her house. Suddenly, my oil light comes on and the car locks up. I pulled to the side of the road by the turn and coasted to a stop.

We called her dad to come get us and waited. It amused us that no one stopped to help us, or ask if we needed help. People even stopped back so they wouldn't be beside us or pulled up close to the car in front of them to avoid us. So we sat baking in the car with the windows down and no breeze. Then we see the flashing lights behind us. <img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 213px; height: 160px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_w72Kh3tORyM/TIblj2-BejI/AAAAAAAAABc/BJ5eRJTFc5w/s320/policia.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5514347197975591474" /> La policia. They checked on us and even followed us back to Brittany's. So we regrouped at Brittany's and started back on the journey. We checked in to the hotel at waited for the other car. We all went to dinner at Holly's restaurant which literally had every kind of food known to man. We went back to the hotel and played catch phrase.

The next morning we had breakfast and got dressed for the dunes. It was raining so we decided to hit the outlet mall first. It wasn't even cloudy by the time we got to the mall so we didn't stay there long. We picked up Subway, even cut across 4 lanes of traffic to get to it and took them to the beach with us. And Brittany had judged me for always carrying a cooler in the trunk of the car. Who was judging when we enjoyed cold sandwiches on the beach? We changed to our suits and found a nice place on the beach. We got into the water which was really cold but felt good since it was so hot. We laid out and tanned. Lindsey, Becca and I climbed a sand dune and slid down. Then Lindsey and I climbed the tallest dune, which was a victory. <img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_w72Kh3tORyM/TIb8E2mGiZI/AAAAAAAAAB0/Fg6TuyVaPKo/s200/P8140264.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5514371954066753938" />At the top I saw a lizard and got attacked by a dragonfly. The dragonfly, Schmegal,(not the creature on the Lord of the Rings) followed both of us down the hill and into the water. We joined the rest of our group in the lake but Schmegal followed us. We had to go underwater and splash to keep him away. After he finally left we stayed low to the water so there was less body above water for him to land on.

We left the dunes, showered and got dressed for dinner. We went to Shoreline Brewery and had an amazing dinner. We went back to the hotel room and played Whoonu- a cranium game. The next morning we woke up early and headed home. Brittany, Lindsey and I played catch phrase on the way home. I took my car in the next day to get it checked but everything came back fine.

It was a great trip and we had a good time. Here are some pics:
<img style="float:left; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_w72Kh3tORyM/TIb80TpNK4I/AAAAAAAAACM/mywQVUMgKTk/s200/P8140283.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5514372769318251394" />
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_w72Kh3tORyM/TIb8z0PVHcI/AAAAAAAAACE/mhGGDDsNHZM/s200/P8140265.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5514372760888221122" />
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_w72Kh3tORyM/TIb8zQvy0_I/AAAAAAAAAB8/y82llo-bfj0/s200/P8140268.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5514372751360709618" />

Jesus is the sheriff of this town

Yesterday was the Miss International Pageant and Rustie did a wonderful job representing Indiana. She looked beautiful on the stage and we were all very proud of her. Miss Brazil won Miss International which is amazing as she is the first Miss her country has had. She was very sincere and I think she will be a great asset to Job's Daughters.

I'm sure everyone by now has heard about Indiana's Supreme Bethel Officers, but...Rustie Mills got SBJP, Mahaley Orme got SB Rep to South Dakota and Lindsey Noland got SB Rep to Ohio. Tonight was the Supreme Bethel Installation. Indiana is excited for these Daughters in their new offices.

Today I spent the day with Becca, Lindsey and Mahaley. Kathy Cooper drove us to Garbanzo, an amazing Mediterranean Grill. Then she dropped us back in the Garden of the Gods. We walked from the Trading Post across the grass to the hills. <img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 213px; height: 160px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_w72Kh3tORyM/TF3Y5n3aORI/AAAAAAAAABI/qR9ASAN5tGk/s320/Jesus+sheriff.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5502792804182145298" /> We climbed and climbed. Unfortunately for Becca and I, Lindsey and Mahaley still have young lungs so they ran ahead of us. However, with age comes wisdom so we knew the negative consequences of falling down a hill and spent significant time testing and retesting our steps and path options. It was so much fun and the view was amazing. And at the end of the day, we can all say that we climbed a mountain.

Left is death

This morning Kathy, Trilla, Lindsey, Becca and I drove to the Garden of the Gods for a little adventure. The rocks were awesome. Lindsey, Becca and I went rock climbing and got to the top of a lot of the formations. We took tons of pictures along the way. Now here's where the story takes a turn. Left.
"You can never go wrong with left," Lindsey says.
Disagreed. So, as we're driving around the Garden of the Gods looking for sheep and the mythical roadrunner, we come to a fork. We headed left. We drive and drive and drive. Nobody told us that when you go left you leave the park and enter Pike National Forest. So we drove up and up until we reached the top of the mountain. It was crazy- we were literally parallel from Pike's Peak, not that high up but close. We ended up in Woodland Park, a town about 20 miles from Colorado Springs. Here's the thing, when you travel on top of mountains, it takes at least 2 hours to go that distance. We all survived and we all had a really good time.

We got back just in time for the All Job's Daughter Luncheon which was really good. They did ritual awards and Mahaley got 3rd place in 4th Messenger. Everyone was very proud. With no plans for the afternoon, Becca and I hit the pool for a few hours. We finally got some good sun before the reguarly scheduled afternoon storm hit.

I went to the Royalty get-together for Grand Bethel Honored Queens and Princesses before the Formal Banquet. It was nice to meet the other GBHQs and was actually fun. After the Formal Banquet was Formal opening. Madison and Mahaley did a great job carrying the Indiana and Bethel flags.

Tomorrow morning we have Supreme Bethel early early, Royalty luncheon, then Pageant.

-E

I hate to go N'Sync on you but...

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 213px; height: 160px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_w72Kh3tORyM/TF3U3poI1lI/AAAAAAAAAAw/RHHU2AJOV-0/s320/Pool.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5502788372248712786" />
So yesterday was awesome. We went white water rafting way early. We had to meet in the lobby at 6:45 for the buses. So we meet and waited and waited. Finally around 8 they let us know that there was not going to be enough transportation for everyone. So Mike and Trilla Noland drove Lindsey, Rustie, and Lyrray. Since Mommie Eli and Auntie Becca were chaperoning Mahaley, we all had to stick together. We caught a ride with a family from Oregon. They were nice and their daughters, Sarah and Cassie, ended up on our raft at Echo Canyon along with this guy Mike from...somewhere that Becca will have to tell me.

The rafting was amazing and we were amazing. We dominated. And contrary to the stories Rustie tells, Mahaley feel off the boat. Rustie wasn't even on the boat. I had to watch in sheer horror as Mahaley struggled to return to the safety of the boat. Mike, being the hero that he is, grabbed both her and Cassie and pulled them to safety. He had some difficulty pulling Mahaley back because she had unbuckled her top strap on her life jacket to conveniently remove the camera before tumbling into the level 4 waters. I anchored Mike, thus saving both of their lives. And while I hate to call myself a hero...

We got back to the hotel and grabbed some food. Then Becca and I laid out by the pool. Success! It got really cloudy and we knew that people were probably judging us because we would be judging someone laying out in an impending storm. (My mom's 2 cents: "Though I think you were laying out in an actual storm...I heard the thunder.") Either way, we kept checking and as long as you can see a shadow over your skin when you hold your hand between it and the sky...you're getting light. And we did. I figured with a 50% cloud cover, we're still 1 mile closer to the sun so it's like 30% more sun than we'd have in the same conditions in Indiana. Can't fight science. I fell asleep early last night and woke up early this morning for ritual contest.
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 213px; height: 160px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_w72Kh3tORyM/TF3VtM7aCCI/AAAAAAAAABA/U3Y-hrxsS1M/s320/storm.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5502789292257839138" />
I've spent the entire day as a ritual judge for 3rd Messengers, Senior Princesses and Novices. We just got finished and now I would be looking forward to laying out but it's thundering and cloudy. But if there's a shadow...

Mike the Headless Chicken

So I've already failed my mission of laying out every day. I'm having a little bit of trouble adjusting to the altitude here and spent most of the day sleeping. FYI Colorado Springs is just a little over a mile high. This morning we went to the Air Force Academy for church service. The building was amazing. We got to explore a little and saw the Jewish, Buddhist, and Catholic service halls. Then, as my Mom said, we ate at the officer's club which literally had every kind of food.

I wish I could then tell you all of the amazing things that I did after that but I slept for like 4 hours. It was a good time.

After my nap, my Mom and I went in search of a cooler for the room. We were unsuccessful until a lucky penny landed us at a Shell gas station where we found the perfect cooler. We went to the Supreme Guardian's Reception and watched a Hula dancer. Then we got back in the car to find groceries to fill our cooler. We got some snacks and breakfast food for the rest of the trip. Now we're hanging out by the pool reading and stealing the Lobby internet.

Tomorrow we're going white water rafting which I've been looking forward to the entire time. I really hope that we have somewhat difficult rapids and not totally lame waves. The Indiana girls bought me the ugliest shoes I've ever seen and I actually found some shorts to match but I'm not bold enough to pull off the look. The golf outfit for the GGC golf outing was about my limit for ridiculous. I'll get a pic of the shoes before they float away on the Arkansas River in a fitting procession.

Now in search for a waterproof camera.

JL,

E

The road just forks...in Colorado!

So I'm writing a quick note to quiet the complaints. Last week was DeMolay's Conclave. I was able to travel to their Formal Opening Thursday and Installation and Dance on Saturday. Luckily, I was not alone in my travels. I drove Samantha King, Carolyn Winebar and Brittany Winebar- my GBSP. If you ever get a chance to ask her for her impression of the toothless customer in the Greenfield Burger King who gave us directions...you will not be disappointed. Congratulations to James on your election as State Master Councilor. I am looking forward to see how deserving you feel you are of your Grand Bethel title. Congratulations to Samantha Bertram the newly elected DeMolay State Sweetheart.

So now we're in Colorado Springs, CO. The flight was good. My mom made friends which is always a plus. The hotel is really nice but no wireless in the room :(. I guess Hot in Cleveland will have to wait. So far I love Colorado and am seriously considering moving here. We're going to the Air Force Academy tomorrow for a church service and breakfast at the Officer's club. I've seen some Indiana people here and there but everyone seems to still be recovering from their trips. We found the pools and gym. My goal is to lay out every day. I feel that it is a very attainable goal.

FYI- I moved last week my new address is 2040 W. 79th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46260. I love my new apartment and am almost unpacked. I love my new roommate and puppy. But I am not excited about the new job- which is the same job but at the Panera in Carmel instead of Noblesville.

Getting off here to do something fun.

JL,

E

About Me

My name is Elecia and I am the current GBHQ of Indiana, Job's Daughters International. It's almost been a month since Grand Session and things have fallen into place. In a week I leave for Supreme Session in Colorado Springs, CO. I'm excited for white-water rafting and Pike's Peak. I think I'm more excited to have a break from work. Maybe I'll retire after my return from Supreme. ;)

A little about me...
I'm originally from Yorktown, IN which is near Muncie if you weren't aware. I moved to Bloomington, IN for school at Indiana University. I graduated in 2009 with a BA in Criminal Justice and Psychology. I miss Bloomington a lot and can't wait for their OV so I can bring home some Mother Bear's pizza- you wouldn't judge if you knew. Now I live in Indianapolis on the northside near Meridian.

My parents are very supportive of me and my Job's endeavors. For those of you who do not know, Bonita Ramirez is my mom. I know that the different last names create a lot of confusion so I thought I would clear that up. My sister, Raquel Ray, is also on GB Exec.

I am very easy-going and like almost everything but I get distracted and lost interest easily so I keep things changing. I like music especially Carbon Leaf- a group out of Richmond, VA. I like watching ridiculous shows on TV that probably cause my IQ to drop at each episode. I love my friends. Dislikes- the color red, people with long nails who scratch their skin, the color gold, the sound of people swallowing, and teter bugs (centipedes).

I'm looking forward to a great year and I am going to try to write at least semi-regularly. Please comment on my posts. If no one reads this, there's no reason to write it.

JL,

E
